Silicone is one of the most versatile materials in manufacturing, but not all silicone is created equal. Understanding the different grades helps you choose the right material for your application.
Food-Grade Silicone
  • Common standards: FDA (US), LFGB (EU)
  • Characteristics: Non-toxic, odorless, BPA-free
  • Temperature range: -40°C to 230°C

Medical-Grade Silicone
  • Common standards: ISO 10993 biocompatibility
  • Characteristics: Platinum-cured, hypoallergenic, biocompatible
